1939 New York World’s Fair Press Photos

These are press photos from the New York World’s Fair of 1939. They show views of the Florida pavilion and it’s proximity to the “Theme Center” of the fair – the Trylon and Perisphere.

The Perisphere was a 180 foot (55 meter) diameter sphere and was connected to the Trylon, a 610 foot (186 meter) tall a triangular pylon or spire by what was then the world’s longest escalator.
