This is a street map of Orlando. It’s dated 1936.
The map was designed for tourists and outlines a “scenic drive” that passes by Orlando highlights. It was published by the Greater Orlando Chamber of Commerce.
The scenic drive shown in the map can be driven today and you can still see most of the buildings and sites listed. Dickson Azalea Park, Mead Gardens and the two country clubs – Orlando and Dubsdread are still there.
Tinker Field is standing, but there’s a memorial to the ball park where it once stood. Sunshine Park is also long gone and the Auditorium is now Bob Carr Theater and has been expanded, though the original facade has been preserved inside the building.
