Cypress Knee Museum Card c1970

This is a one-sided card approximately 5 by 7 inches from the Cypress Knee Museum in Palmdale. Tom Gaskins created the museum to showcase his cypress knee carvings.

This card has a poem about the cypress tree by Don Blanding. Blanding was sometimes called the poet laureate of Hawaii because of the number of poems he wrote while living there, but he lived in Ft. Pierce in the 1940s. He published the book Floridays in 1941, a book that would later influence one of Florida’s other favorite adopted sons, Jimmy Buffett who would give the name Floridays to a song and album.
