Hialeah Brochure 1954

This bi-fold brochure, produced by Hialeah Raceway for the 1955 race season, details what can be seen at the park where many of the largest horses races in Florida took place.

It also tells the story of their huge flock (sometimes known as a “flamboyance”) of flamingos. Originally begun with birds imported from Cuba, they are Caribbean flamingos. It’s generally believed that flamingos are not native to Florida, but through the flock at Hialeah, they have become synonymous with the Sunshine State.
