Overseas Highway 1940

Featuring 20 images from the full length of the Keys, all the way west to Fort Jefferson in the Dry Tortugas, this postcard book is dated 1940 and sent in 1948.

The Overseas Highway is classically called the “ribbon of highway that goes to sea”, and while it may seem odd to do a postcard book about a road, this one is remarkable and worthy of note. Containing so many bridges, both short and really long, it was one of the largest construction projects of its time.
