Ocala Visitors Guide 1949

This is a 29 page visitors guide created by the Tourist and Convention Division of the Marion County Chamber of Commerce. Dated 1949, it’s a promotional booklet for the Kingdom of the Sun. It measures about 5.5 by 8 inches.

Interesting parts of the guide include several suggested trips around central Florida, information on tung tree farms for producing tung oil, an article stating that local police have been ordered to be courteous to tourists and an ad saying that you don’t need to dress up to go to the local drive-in theater.
